I’ve already mentioned that LG’s KC-910 is set for October and that it will be sporting the 8 meg snapper and 3″ touchy screen.

Here’s a smattering of other specs that this octomeg eye’d soon-to-be new flagship will be loaded with (even though it’s rear aint as pretty as it could’ve been in my opinion).

  • Quadband GSM (850/900/1800/1900 Mhz) and HSDPA (2100 Mhz) smartphone
  • 107.8mm long, 55.9mm wide, 14mm thick, and 114 grams heavy
  • 240 x 400 3″ TFT touchscreen
  • 8.0 Megapixel camera (3264×2448 pixels) with Xenon flash (video capable), secondary VGA (480 x 640) camera for video calls
  • microSD slot accepts up to 8GB
  • DivX, MP4, WMV, H.264, MP3, AAC, and WMA playback capability
  • Bluetooth 2.0 and WiFi (802.11 b/g)
  • TV-Out and GPS (with aGPS) capability
  • iTunes 8 and iPhone 2.1 Available on Tuesday!

Ars Technica has changed its mind after saying that iTunes 8 won’t be on stage at Apple’s Let’s Rock September 9 event.

So I’m taking it that iTunes 8 will be available then.

Not only that but they’re saying Apple will also release the iPhone 2.1 update that in theory will fix the apparently large password security flaw.

There are also hints that 2.1 will have secret powers features that are absent from the beta.

    Copy and paste anyone?  ;)

    iTunes 8 Brings Genius Recommendations

Digg founder Kevin Rose seems to have a finger/pulse interface with Apple.

After unveiling shots of the rumoured next generation iPod nano he’s following up with knowledge of new iTunes features too.

iTunes 8 is widely expected to launch at Apple’s event next week as well as the new iPods.

According to Rose a new source has come forward to tell him iTunes 8 will include a new function called ”Genius”, which builds intelligent playlists of songs that fit well together.

The Genius feature is also reported to recommend music from the iTunes store that isn’t currently in your library.

Rose also says iTunes 8 will let you browse albums and artists visually, presenting cover art in a grid, building on Apple’s cover flow technology. That should look nice and pretty and also goes beyond a ’simple’ recommendation thingy.

He also claims the next-generation iTunes will include TV shows in HD quality.

    Anything else Mr Rose?

New Snow Patrol Interactiveness on iTunes 8?

By the sounds of things Apple are refusing to rest on their laurals as “No. 1 digital Music Retailer”.

There are plans afoot for a more interactive element to the digital albums.

The first artist to take advantage of this is Snow Patrol who are set to release their latest studio offering next month.

According to a Polydor production manager, the downloadable, “interactive” application (could this be why there’s going to be an iTunes 8?) will offer additional content such as artwork, behind-the-scenes images, and lyrics for iPhone and iPod touch owners.

“A digital booklet that will take you into the videos and content.”

This is very interesting indeed - especially if this is merely one of the new features that iTunes 8 is going to bring.

More news as I get it.

    Microsoft Allows Browsing InPrivate

There are moments (apparently) that more private viewing of the interweb is required.

Microsoft has confirmed IE 8 would get its own “porn mode” (there’s such things on the internet??? :o ) albeit they’re calling it a “private browsing mode”.

They have gone and named it “InPrivate” which still sounds a bit ‘dirty raincoat’ to me, but perhaps that’s just how my mind works….

Beta 2 is now available here.

PrimaLuna Prologue 8 - Pod Dock Valve Love

Prologue 8This work of valve artistry is the PrimaLuna Prologue Eight.

Ok, looking closer it might look a little like a hard-drive caddy with a power brick and few light-bulbs on it but its makers say that the aural pleasure will blind everyone and then the love will truly start.

For a pod-dock and CD player that costs £1,590 it had better live up to the hype!
