TouchDiva - Touch Screen Home Juke Box

I’ve been pointed in the direction of this rather natty media device called the TouchDiva.

Nope, I’d not heard of it before either - which is worrying as it is supposed to be released in the UK and Europe in a matter of weeks!

The specs match the looks with the guts of a B&O in the two 125W ICEpower (Bang & Olufsen-manufactured) amps and that 15.4-inch touchscreen.

You pay a subscription of  around a tenner a month and for that you can download as much music as you wish.

The Danish manufacturers claim to have “agreements with the four major music companies in the world (Warner, EMI, Sony-BMG and Universal),” giving them access to over 2 million songs.

The Diva itself has just two buttons - on/off and a reset.

If you like the idea of having a touchscreen digital jukebox you’ll be looking to have to pay around £750 from December 1st apparently.

B&O Joins The Ear Set

EarSet 1 and 2We are all aware of Bang & Olufsen.

The make top end phones, hi-fi and that groovy mp3 playing phone the Serenata (I wrote a review before moving this blog to its current home).

Now they bring us the plainly titled EarSet 2 and EarSet 3.

The EarSet 2 is the Bluetooth lug-grabber and has two omni-directional microphones that employ what’s called Digital Signal Processing (DSP) that helps clean up the sound by suppressing wind and other background noise for the best transmission possible.

EarSet 2  should be pretty comfy to wear as it has a fully adjustable clip to fit on your ear and a fold out mic.

Unfurling and folding up the mic functions as an on/off switch for the device. Calls and volume are operated by a single switcharoo!

The EarSet 3 isn’t wireless but will still inject clear tones down your aural cannals - yup, both lug-holes!

As well as being designed for chatting on your mobile blower you can listen to those mp3’s you’ve stored on it as well.  It will no doubt be great for those stand-alone MP3 players or hook it up to your new Apple iPhone 3G.

The EarSet 2 is around £200 and the EarSet 3 is about £150ish

Samsung F400 Comes With B&O Sound

Samsung F400 mainIf you hate it when kids insist on listening to their phat sounds via their less than phat phone speakers then this one is for them…but let’s not encourage the little darlings huh?

Samsung’s new F400 has speakers built in by none other than Bang and Olufsen!

The phone itself is a dual slider (like the N95 for instance) so slide it down to reveal the speakers, and up to get to the keypad for all that normal phone mullarkey.Samsung F400 B&O detail

As well as the B&O speakers it also has music recognition software that’ll tag a track when you hear it, the phone takes a standard 3.5mm headphone plug, and it also comes with an FM radio with RDS. and a 3 mp snapper.

This is an HSDPA capable 3.5G device with a maximum download speed of 3.6 Mbps. The F400 also supports GPRS and EDGE data, plus 2100 MHz UMTS and tri-band GSM.

Bang Martin - B&O and Aston Martin together

Written by Jay Garrett on December 14, 2007 in: Audio/Hi-Fi, General Interest, News, Toys 'n' Stuff, Transport | Tags: , , , , , , ,

B&O_Aston MartinThose who know me know the fact that I love cars. Nice, well designed cars that have been created through passion and not just wind-tunnels and auto-cad. And, if you know me, you know that I have long promised myself an Aston Martin (I have ‘my’ Vanquish already designed and ready - all I have to do is press ’send’).

So when this gorgeous marque announced a “creative partnership” with top AV gurus, Bang&Olufsen, I was quite beside myself.

The press release clearly states that designers, engineers and specialists from both companies will be working closely together in the future. B&O are already rendering systems for the Audi A4 but to partner AM - now that’s more tasty and inkeeping with such a premier brand.

Aston Martin CEO, Ulrich Bez, remarked how Bang & Olufsen products should fit seamlessly within Aston Martin vehicles:

“Elegance and excellence go hand in hand, and designers, engineers and specialists in both companies will work closely together to achieve a benchmark result.”

This was reciprocated by B&O Chief Executive Officer, Torben Ballegard Sorensen:

“There are deep similarities between our cultures and heritages.”

Now, all I need is either a lottery win or that lucrative contract!
