British Choose Internet Over Cars and Washing Machines

An AMD-commissioned YouGov research into British notebook usage has shown that most Brits would rather be hooked up to the interweb than own their own ride!

The study reveals that 90% of 18-24 year olds own a notebook with 73% saying that they “couldn’t live without” it.

I fear for Halfords - I really do!! ;)

Britons apparently consider access to the internet (67%) as more important than access to a car (54%) or a washing machine (58%).

AMD suggests that the ”constantly-connected” Brits are shunning face-to-face get-togethers in favour of social networking sites and catching up with TV online.

The report states that almost half (41%) of men enjoy watching BBC iPlayer on their notebooks.

Men are the ones most likely to download music (71% men v 62% women) and the ladies are more interested in chatting with their friends and family on Instant Messenger (75% v 72% of men).

Now - I must get back to Twitter, check my email, see who’s online on MSN, AOL, ICQ….

Solar Sail Messenger Bags - Sakku Very Much

Most of have seen those solar-messenger bags that charge your gadgets from the power of the sun - and most are pretty bland looking if we’re perfectly honest.

Well this line of bags from Sakku uses old sails for the material of the bag itself so it’s doubly good for the environment so green points for the win!

On top of the feeling of being eco-friendly each bag comes with its own story.

They are individually stamped with the name of the lake or sea in which the boat was located that they took the sail off of.

The bags range in price from € 175- € 245 or $275-$385 and you can even use PayPal!

UK Gets LG KS-360 in August

LG KS-360LG has announced the UK launch of the KS360, specifically aimed at the Side-Kick audience with the emphasis put squarely on messaging on the move.

The KS360’s sliding QWERTY pad is all queued up so that users can send SMS, IM, email and have the ability to access all those time leeching social networking sites.

The GSM/GPRS/EDGE connected KS360 also comes with touchscreen dialing, a 2-megapixel camera and a microSD card slot that supports cards of up to 4 gig.

LG says

“The KS360’s keypad lets users write messages quickly and accurately and once the full length keypad has been opened, the 2.4-inch screen automatically rotates 90 degrees using accelerometer technology. “

Other features include Bluetooth 2.0, USB, polyphonic ringtones, MP3 and AAC audio and MPEG4 and H.263 vid playback, and a WAP 2.0 browser.

It comes in a slew of cool colours that should appeal to even the most street blud out there innit.

The KS360 will be available on O2 and Orange from August.

Update:- For full specs and a more in-depth look at the KS360 have a look at my other article :)

Well. I’ll go to Timbuk2!!

Timbuk2 have a great way of ensuring that you don’t have the same lappy bag (or tote, messenger or rucksak for that matter) as anyone else.

In a matter of seconds I had designed a bag for my soon to be delivered laptop (I’ll review it when I get it) and the total cost was $150 and that’s including using one of the ‘Limited Edition’ fabrics.

I am definitely considering using this company and by researching people’s feedback it seems to be a good choice.

Check them out by clicking the link - I’ve not added a pic as that would make my design a tad pointless ;0,
