LiveScribe Pen - Listen To Your Scribbles

Somehow this little thing passed me by but I am here to make ammends.

It looks just like a pen………but a very clever pen indeedy!

The Livescribe Pulse Digital Smartpen records your notes in two ways.

It creates digital copies of everything you write by hand while recording audio at the same time :0.

It also goes that extra mile and links the two together, so you can quickly access audio by tapping parts of your notes.

All of this is uploaded to your computer where the Livescribe software archives and makes your notes fully searchable.

In addition, it offers features like a calculator, translator, and a paper piano that plays a mini piano you draw on paper……….now my brain hurts!!!

I can see many applications for intellectuals, musicians, professionals and even journalists :0P

Prices are $149 for the 1GB and $199 of the 2GB pen, notebooks are $19.95 for a 4 pack and journals are $24.95 for a 2 pack.

Ink cartridges are $5.95 for 5.

Available from the LiveScribe site or from Amazon

Since Asus launced the EeePC many of its rivals have come up with similar alternatives.

Each one is designed to shoulder in on the budget ultraportable market.

Some are better spec’d and/or cheaper but they’re all tiny.

Pock-it

I realise that this isn’t really a gadget or such but I think that this redesign of something that certainly I’d feel hard to live without was worth mentioning.

Pock-it

The pad of humble Post-its is like gold in the modern office but this pushes the ante . It’s a Pock-it;  same idea with a twist.  Now, three of the sides are sticky forming a little pocket.  Handy for business cards “Jeff called to sell you puppies - here’s his card”, “Here’s your stinkin rent!” at the end of the month and “I took £30 out of your handbag when you went to the loo - here it is back”………..
