Please Fix The iPhone - Nag Jobs and Apple Folk

I am still lovin my 3Gesus iPhone.

But, it still aint quite the perfect machine - not yet.

Fullsix has launched a site dedicated to the more vociferous moaning-mini’s out there called “Please Fix the iPhone.”

The site gets owners to vote on the most pressing issues that’s ‘bugging’ them and their iPhones - hopefully Jobs and friends will get to work on them faster.

There’s even a version of the site specifically made for the Apple handest’s browser, so that you can complain about your iPhone via your iPhone.

Here’s the link: Please Fix the iPhone via Josh Spear via Gizmodo

New Apple iPod Nano, Classic and Headphones

As well as the new iPod Touch the Nano has had a revamp.

Finally after all the speculation and ’spy pics’ we can see the new design all offical like.

As well as the New Nano there’s an upgrade to the 80GB Classic.

“As of today we’re upgrading the 80GB iPod”, with 120GB of storage, but for the same price. “30,000 songs for your pocket”, 120GB is apparently.

Steve announced, “We shipped the first Nano in 2005, it’s only been three years” and then unveiled the new Nano - which is pretty much like the spy shots that cluttered the interblogwebsphere for the last 2 or 3 weeks.

“It’s the thinnest iPod we’ve ever made”, it has an oval shape, and comes in a chrome-look exterior. The screen is high-res says Jobsy with the new lanky body.

You can create Genius playslists on the iPod Nano, without it being connected to a PC, plus features an accelerometer, so when you turn it sideways, you can watch video and check out your photos in landscape mode.

I’m particularly diggin the “shake to shuffle” feature, which does exactly what it says on the tin.

There was also the small matter of  ”these iPods are the cleanest and least-toxic iPods we’ve ever created”.

The Nano will blast out in eight new colours (just click the pic for the full range!) and the 8GB will be $149, 16GB will be $199, and both models will ship in next few days.

New Apple headphones are also launching, with a little control located on the headphone wires, so you can play/pause, rewind, forward and turn the music up as well.

New in-ear headphones are also launching, they have two drivers each in them, a woofer and a tweeter, they will sell for $79

New iPod Touch with Nike+ Support as Standard

Well, as we’ve all survived the Large Hadron Collider being started let’s have a look at the new iPod Touch.

Jobsy says that it still ”has the same gorgeous 3.5-inch display”, but is even thinner, has built-in speakers, better artwork on albums and videos and an inbuilt app store are all being added.

But the killer thing is that it will feature Nike+ support, which has the receiver built in, meaning the user just needs a transmitter for their shoe, and off you’re go - measuring all those pies ‘n’ pastries that you’re burning off.

You’ll obviously get the new Genius support.

“You could make a pretty good argument that the iPod Touch is the best device to play games on”, Jobs goes on to say………………..MMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmk.

A new software update will be launching this week, “2.1 software update is a big update” according to Jobs.

It does sound pretty fab. The battery life is improved, iPhones won’t crash, backing up to iTunes is “dramatically faster”, all available this Friday, for free for iPhone owners.

iPod Touch users however, have to pay $9.99.

The new iPod Touch will cost £169 for the 8GB model, £219 for the 16GB model and £289 for the 32GB model. They’re available now.

Shame that they forgot to put in GPS though :(  Now, would that have hurt so much Mr Jobs?

More To Come From Apple

Stevey JAfter announcing record profits Mr J has said that there’s more to come!

Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, has promised more new products before the end of the year at the company’s financial results conference call on Monday.

“We’re busy finishing several more wonderful new products to launch in the coming months”

Has anyone got any idea what could be on the horizon?

New laptops, iPods, the hinted at Mac tablet, the iSpresso coffee machine?

As soon as I know; you will.

O2 and Carphone Warehouse - UK 3G iPhone Prices Register

3G iPhone StoodI’ve just registered my interest with Carphone Warehouse and the news from Apple and o2 this morning is that the new iPhone, launched last night (in case you’re still unaware), will be free on selected tarrifs.

As predicted Apple are wanting those sales figures so here how the tarrifs stack up:

£75 (3000 mins, 500 texts) and £45 (1200 mins, 500 texts) a month contracts will offer an 8GB iPhone 3GB for free.

The higher contract offers the 16GB model for free and you can pick one up for just £59 on the £45 a month contact.
3G iPhone End
There’s a new £30-a-month contract which offers a paltry 75 minutes and 125 texts, which will allow to buy the handsets for £99 and £159 respectively.

The same prices apply to the £35-a-month deal which offers 600 minutes and £500 texts. I’m guessing this would be the one I’d go for.

The biggest news, however, could be the fact that the iPhone 3G is coming to pay-as-you go! I didn’t really see that one coming but I think this shows how flexible Apple is prepared to be.

So, contact O2 or Carphone Warehouse online to register your interest and be fed more news as it comes :0)

The pics on this article shows the actual dimensions, etc of the new Apple blower.

It’s Official! 3G iPhone is Go in 25 Countries from July 11th

3G iPhone UKWell, the moment we’ve all been waiting for:

19:30

First some stats were announced: the iPhone has 90% customer satisfaction, 98% of people are browsing, 94% are using email, 90% are text messaging, and 80% are using 10 features or more.

19:31

3G.  It has been mentioned - Now everything kicks off!

So what’s it like?

It has a black back, is thinner at the edges, and is totally plastic. It has a flush headphone jack, solid metal buttons, a 3.5-inch display and “improved audio” which, lets face it, shouldn’t have proved difficult.

There was then a demonstration showing how long it takes to load a website. 21 seconds on 3G compared with 2G’s 59 seconds. Apparently that’s 36% faster than a Nokia N95 but I’ve not noticed mine take 21 seconds…..Hmmm….

It takes 5 seconds to download an email attachment compared with EDGE’s 18 seconds.

The new Jesus blower has 300 hours standby time and GPS. It shall be shipped to 25 countries.

Righty; Prices:

8GB for $199

16GB for $299 - There will also be a white 16GB model!

It will go on sale around the world on July 11th - this has been confirmed by O2 and Carphone Warehouse. UK prices around £150.

Apple Sued - iPhone Caller ID

Written by Jay Garrett on February 29, 2008 in: General Interest, Mobile Phones, News | Tags: , , , , , , , , ,

One Romek Figa claims to have patented a caller ID system that has been infringed by the iPhone.

Figa’s patent, which was granted in 1990, refers to a two-line LCD screen and external caller ID equipment and describes a way to associate incoming numbers with stored contact names.

He is ultimately looking to halt sales of the iPhone and have Apple cough up some hefty wedge and license his patent.  Apple have obviously said………….errrr…no.

According to statements by Figa’s attorneys Moto, Nokia and Samsung have already licensed the patent but Apple “refused to take a license on the terms offered.”

Apparently Figa sent his demand letter directly to Steve Jobs.  Do you reckon that’s the best way to win Apple over?
